On the 3rd and 4th June Focus Taekwondo held their busiest grading to date with a 100% pass rate! From the 2 venues at Focus Taekwondo including the little kickers program 32 students graded for their next belts.

Head of Examination at Focus Taekwondo and Brooksbank coach Stephen Cocker took the grading and Founder of Focus Taekwondo and Mixenden coach Chris Cocker along with assistant coach Byron was also on the grading examination panel, with Junior assistant coach Mason demonstrating for the candidates.

Saturday the 3rd June was the day of the Taekwondo examination where 26 students graded for their next belts, with good some extremely high standard of Taekwondo been shown Focus Taekwondo kept up their record of a 100% pass rate!

This was the first time different time slots for the advanced grades and novice grades had been used, the under green belts took their examination first then following that the green belts and above took their grades! This worked brilliantly meaning there was less students waiting around and the novice grades was just working with equal grades rather than mixed!

At the Mixenden Centre 2 students graded for blue belt meaning since Last April they have graded every time without missing or failing any and are on course for their black belts next year!

Big steps was also taken for the 2 red tags that gained their red belts only 2 more gradings away from black belts and another 2 students gained their black tags!

A massive congratulations and well done to Niamh for receiving the best of grade trophy in the novice group. Niamh trains with Stephen at Brooksbank and showed a really high standard for her grade, she demonstrated excellent Poomsae (set forms), great sparring and some impressive power testing.

Lastly a huge congratulations to Lewis who gained the best of grade trophy for the advanced group, Lewis gained his black tag and showed excellent technique and power to earn him to trophy! Lewis is a competitor for Focus Taekwondo and at a very good standard to his sparring section was a big star out area but what was more impressive was his Poomsae section demonstraing good technique for such a young age (9)!

On Sunday the 4th June Focus Teakwood held their Little Kickers grading a program for 4-6 year olds consisting of multi skills, fundamental movements and basic Taekwondo. 6 children took their grades and again all passed, 3 students gaining their Orange stripe and only 3 grades away from completing the Little Kickers program which will make them the first in the clubs history!

Finlay has showed great improvement and also gained the highest mark in the grading earning him the best of grade for the Little Kickers award.

Focus Taekwondo has been growing month by month and is going strength to strength students from both venues demonstrating some brilliant taekwondo. Now the hard work starts again for the September grading and hopefully the Black Belt promotion at the end of the year.
